Social Distancing Sucks.

Hello old friends, new followers, and fellow bloggers-

Happy Tuesday!  I don’t know about each of you but I am over this social distancing thing.  I am complying of course because I love people and I want them to be healthy and safe.  However, I live and breathe connecting with others.  One of my top love languages is physical touch and the fact that hugging is out for a season,  I am not okay.

At this moment, I think of all the people that are feeling alone.  There is something so powerful about a hug, a cuddle session or even a smile. People were created for connection, for a community.  This is why I think it is so imperative to have a friend.  No one was created to walk this walk alone.  Hugs were one of the many little things that I took for granted.  The ability to wrap my arms around the necks of those I love is a priceless gift.  Maybe that’s the point of all of this… maybe God is allowing us to all be in the same boat, to reveal to us that we truly need one another.

We were created to love and to be loved.

What would our world look like if we made each day count?  If we took nothing for granted? Would we say we loved each other more?  Would we hug each other a little bit tighter?  Would we hold on a little bit longer?

We are finding out that all we’ve placed our hope in means nothing.  Our jobs, our followers and desires to be relevant are nothing compared to loving and being loved well.  Love is the end goal.  Loving God is the prize.

Social distancing sucks, but Facetime calls do not.  During this time of being in with family and working from home, strive to love a little bit more.  Make time for a check-in.  Make time for a movie session via Facetime.  Become that embarrassing family that loves creating Tik Tok Videos.  Have a blast, create so many memories and love with every ounce of your being.  Social distancing may suck but love is the best.

Give, receive and share love.

Xoxo,

Simone
