One of my favorite songs is “I get to be the one” by JJ Heller.  In this song, she is writing to her future child and she is overjoyed about having the chance to experience life with him or her.  She is a glowing soon-to be mom, loving the fact that she gets to jump the chance at loving someone completely. 

I listen to this song and I smile because I imagine God jumping at the chance to love us.  I can see his broad smile, like a proud papa- planning all the ways He can show us His love.  He desires to hold our hand, provide for us, and wipe all of our tears away- to just love us completely.  The problem with this perfect picture is that as humans, we shy away from God’s love.  He is jumping for the chance to love us and we seek to run far, far away from His love.

What if, just for a moment, when God jumped at the chance to love us- we allowed Him to?  What if?  What would life look like? I can imagine a life full of peace and joy.  I can imagine a life that is not marked by fear but faith because we are completely confident in His love.  God is jumping for the chance to love us.  I am going to allow Him to love me, will you?
