I Don’t Need You.

“If the person you love, woke up one day and decided not to love you- you will be okay. You will move on. You will love again. You will thrive without them. And guess what? Newsflash: They will thrive without you.”- Simone Holloway, 2020.

Negative.

“The what-ifs are the worst and they come without permission.  They come without warning.  Like all terrible things with no mission but to distract,  the what-ifs always come.  They come and suck the life out of a person, leaving them drained of happiness, courage and grit.  I was contending against the possibilities of things taking a turn for the worse.  I was fighting against moments that did not happen, against that which was still unknown. “©Simone Holloway, 2020.

Focus.

“When I think about Him, I am more gracious.  When I think about Him, I am more merciful.  When my mind is placed upon Him, I am more loving.  I am more focused when I place my attention upon Jesus.”©Simone Holloway, 2020.

For The Long Haul…

“I have decided that I am in this thing with the Lord forever.  I’ve come to the place where I love things and people but I don’t love anything or anymore than the Lord. I love God more than my career.  I love God more than the boy who has my heart.  I love God more than my friends.  I love God more than my family.  I love God more and at any moment if he asks me to sacrifice it all, I am willing to walk away from it all.  I don’t worship people and things, for the Lord alone is worthy of all my love, trust, and worship. “©Simone Holloway, 2020.

What If We Got It All Wrong?

“The internet requires men to do so much for relationships. He must text you good morning each morning, he must pay for dates, he must support every idea you ever had in your entire lifetime, he must be willing to be uncomfortable in meeting your family, he must be willing to eat what you eat, he has to workout the way that you workout, and he must be close to perfection – bringing and buying flowers at every single moment. Not one meme said, “Sis, if he’s sharing his dreams and goals with you, he’s a keeper!” Goals and dreams are not really romantic. They are practical.” ©️Simone Holloway, 2020

Do You Know What’s Attractive?

Hello old friends, new followers, and fellow bloggers-  What’s up family?  Happy Friday!  Ladies and Gents, I’ve been in this really dope space where I’ve returned to the dating market.  Let’s just say that dating in 2019 is interesting, to say the least.  What I’ve learned in my short time back on the market is…

In Year Three, I Should Have Left.

“Why do we stay in awful situations?  This is the question that I woke up pondering.  Why do we stay with emotionally, mentally and physically abusive people? Why do we submit ourselves to toxic unhealthy church environments? Why do we settle into office cultures that break our spirits?  Why do we hold onto friends that don’t have our best interest at heart?  Why do we stay even when God gives us a way out, time and time again?  Why?!?!?!” ©Simone Holloway, 2019

The Holding Cell

” I hate waiting in traffic. I hate waiting in long lines.  I hate waiting for the light to change.  I don’t like to wait.  Once I create a schedule, I want it to run smoothly free of delay.  Man, I wish God felt the same way about waiting as I do, but he doesn’t.  In fact, He encourages that we have periods of waiting- moments where we sit and wait for the promise. ” ©Simone Holloway, 2019
