An Evident Shift

Hello old friends, new followers and fellow bloggers!

I know that I have been away from my blog community for a little season but I have appreciated all of yall’s love displayed in the comment section of some of my previous posts.  I really love you all who are in my blog community and family.

Okay, let’s get started with tonight’s discussion.  Today was a snow day for me, and I am doing all that I can to survive snowpocalypse 2016.  I had to attend work this morning, but the inclement weather forced the company to shut down and therefore I went home- driving EXTREMELY slow…. I would hate to face an icy death, I’m just saying.  As I watched the sky release snow, and then suddenly shift to sleet and then to freezing rain.  I realized that today we are living in the season of an evident shift, a time where we will see the hand of God moving in our lives.

I have spent so many years guessing whether the hand of God was moving in my life, like maybe – maybe not.  My faith shaky because each day was a guessing game as I looked at the present details of my life.  As some of you know, the last few years have been the hardest season of my life .  It was a time of disappointment, loss, betrayal and it took everything for me to trust and to believe in God and his goodness.   It took everything for me to continue to follow him even though I did not see him walking in front of me,  this faith walk took everything out of me.  I believe that God wants us to get that place, where it takes everything inside of us to continue to believe…

It is at the peaks of these crazy faith moments, in the moments that we trust in the midst of havoc that the Lord appears by our side and once again prove that He was journeying with us the entire time.  I believe that the reward for our trust is not only this relief in the presence of God, but it is his hand moving quickly in our lives and in those moments – WE SEE HIM MOVING!

I don’t know where you are in your faith journey.  I have no clue where you are in your walk with the Lord.  But I do know, that if you stick it out with Him and choose to trust and believe in the midst of the pain and in the midst of chaos, you’re going to see Him show up in your life and you will experience an evident shift.

Until next time,

“The race is not given to the swift, nor to the strong but to he that endures until the end.”

Hello Moon

the sky is clear

I’m standing here

observing a beautiful sight

in hope that I might

bask in the beauty

of what I see

the moon in all its radiance

haven’t seen a full one since

I was in need of a little hope

I needed to cope

with the fact

I was no longer joined with another

our union pulled asunder

yet I looked up towards heaven

counted to seven

and breathed the night sky

then I decided to say hi

to change and to my new life

void of suffering, void of strife

I whispered sweet words

listened to the whispering of the birds

I stared at the moon

knowing that life would get better soon

love mixed with snow flurries was on the way

tomorrow would present a brighter day

hello moon

love is coming soon

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Hello Authentic Lovers!

As you may know…it’s really cold outside. EXTREMELY COLD.  I, being born a New Yorker and all, should be immune to cold weather or so I thought. I’ve lived in SC now for eight years and have become accustomed to a slight chill but nothing too extreme, but times are changing as it is becoming colder.   During this months of icy bliss, I find myself more and more in the house trying to get cozy.  Today, I am going to share with you my top five cozy must-haves, basically my winter survival kit.  If we share some of these must-haves in common, feel free to comment and let me know!  Ok….Let’s go.

#5- My favorite down comforter.  We all need that one comforter that is twice the size of our bodies and causes us to be surrounded from head to toe in warmth.  I have a comforter at home that is absolutely wonderful. It is beige with wine & green diagonal stripes on is one of my favorite cozy must -haves. It’s nothing like the bedding on Parachute Home, but it’ll make a close second.  If anyone wants to make me happy this Christmas….I like comforters 😉

In less than two minutes, when I get in from work...I look like this girl.

#4My Ultimate Movie Collection.  During cold days…I don’t feel like moving from my couch.  I basically live on my couch between the end of November and mid-February. Living on my couch, makes my life easier.  The TV, kitchen and bathroom are all in the vicinity of my lovely abode, making the need to move even more unnecessary.  If I am going to be lazy and hibernate during the winter months, I might as well go all out!  lol.  I might as well plan my life around my couch, right? 😉  Anyways…I have some ultimate favorite movies that I love to watch during my cozy day madness.  These movies include but are not limited to: A Cinderella Story, A Walk to Remember, The Hunger Games, 13 going on 30, One Night With the King, and basically anything else on Charter Demand. just got real...
Yep…life just got real…

#3– A nice cup of tea. I love hot tea, probably more than the average 21 year old love coffee.  I love drinking tea, I love buying a new tin of tea and I love going to places that specialize in “tea” related things.  I love tea. So, on a cold day…I like to make a cup of blueberry and acai herbal tea, pouring this delicious delight into my favorite mug.   I have three tea mugs:  An hampton inn mug, a valentine’s day xoxo mug and my graduate mug( gift from my mom when I graduated from college).  I love these mugs and I love getting more for more tea days.

Yum...chamomile and mint, a perfect combo!

#2- A good book.  When it’s cold outside, I usually curl up with a good book and sip tea as I read.  I am currently reading: Crossroads by William P.Young and its pretty good.  I love Karen Kingsbury novels and probably own all of them.  I also like Terri Blackstock mystery novels. Reading allows me to escape the boundaries of reality for just a moment, feeding my imagination all of the wonderful possibilities of what could be in the midst of how life really is. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, especially on a cold day.

Ooooo...I just love books!
Ooooo…I just love books!

AND FINALLY……*drum roll please*

#1: My Cozy Day Music Playlist: I love music and have music that reflects every weather pattern, mood, holiday that I could ever describe.  I have playlists on Spotify that are designed to reflect the day that I am having, therefore a cozy day playlist.  When I am having a cozy day; I like soft, mellow, folksy type of music that causes my mind and body to relax.  What do you like to listen to during a cozy day?

Spotify-logo-300x300Well, that’s it for my top five cozy-day must haves.  If you’re looking for a comfy comforter for your cold days, I would suggest checking out  This company is based out of California (design wise) but all of the products are made in Venice, Italy( cool…right?).  Their products are made of Egyptian cotton and dyed naturally: making them environmentally conscious.  I love this company because of their great product standards and their appreciation for the environment.  If you are still looking for great Christmas gifts or you would like a new comforter for more cozy days, check out  Enjoy your cozy days and have a Happy Holidays!

Until next time,

Mo 🙂

Snowpocalypse 2014: 5 things to think about

Hello friends!

It’s been a little minute since we have last spoken and as I sit here experiencing Snowpocalyse part 2- I thought I would spend some time sharing with you all.  So….let’s see I going to  graduate school!  Yay! I have a clear path ahead for my future, a clear path.  It’s crazy to think about how much of a wreck I was a few months ago but thanks be unto God who causes us to triumph.

This snowpocalypse got me thinking about a few things:

(1) The paranoia of people in times of crisis

(2) Why do we go out and get bread and milk?  Both items are perishable.

(3) How beautiful the snow can be

(4) How this beautiful precipitation can be so annoying

and finally…

(5) How intricate and detailed each snowflake is.

Why these 5 items you may ask, I have no idea- these were just the items that came to me at the time.  Everything doesn’t have to be some deep revelation, trust me – I know.  I’m sitting in my college apartment reflecting on the mindset of individuals in a state of crisis.  Just yesterday, I spent the afternoon in the grocery store picking up a few items that we ran out of in my apartment. I picked up the important things such as toilet paper, cookies, chips, etc…things to get by as a college kid.  It’s senior year, second semester, and chips are really on my grocery list as a necessary item, go figure. lol.  Anyways, I watched individuals go into survival mode, large grocery carts were filled to the brim with items that would go bad in a few days.  I saw individuals spend money they didn’t have to get things that they did not need because of the incoming snow storm.  Can you imagine being stranded and having pop tarts to get you by?  If I needed nutrition in a crisis, my body would not appreciate a pop tart.  I’m not knocking anyone, I was in line buying chips- so I am not better or worst than my fellow neighbor.   It’s just that I began to think about how much food was going to be wasted, how many homeless individuals would not be able to get any milk or bread and how mankind is so quick to make irrational decisions in times of panic.  How many people actually thought through what they had at home and what they needed, made a budget and stuck with it.  When we are in times of crisis, we forget about our budgets and pretty much everything else.  That was thought number one.

Thought #2 – Why do we go out and buy milk and bread?  Things that are perishable?  Can someone please explain this to me?  Have you noticed that mankind always go after things that are temporal, perishable, things that don’t last?  Have you?  If not, you’ll realize it one day, trust me.  If you have then you can probably identify some things that we go after.  Think about it , we seek pleasures for that moment.  For example, During Valentine’s Day, we go after chocolate, some kind of bubbly drink, a valentine, teddy bear, a date for the evening.  All of these things can and probably will fade overtime.  Our food and drink becomes waste, valentines are made out of paper that fade a break down over time, the teddy bear (it’s a hard one) but it won’t last forever and that date we seek for will probably not build a long lasting relationship.  We want self-gratification and we want it now!  Bread will mold, milk will go bad yet we stand in line for hours to pay a lot of money for these items.  Logical? No. A status quo? Yes.  It all boils down to a false sense of security.  We believe certain things keep us secure and will make everything alright if we have them but things can only do so much.  We try to make corruptible things incorruptible but that cannot be the case.  We are corruptible so how can we make anything in our lives incorruptible.  The only one that can make things incorruptible is the one who is incorruptible- God.  He’s the only one that can keep us secure and in snow storms, He doesn’t have to stand in line for bread and milk.

Thoughts # 3, 4, and 5: All about snow, beauty, and annoyance.  Sometimes the most beautiful things in our lives can be the most annoying.  We can have a beautiful relationship, home life, career, family, etc and they can be the most annoying people on the face of this planet.  This annoyance is not rooted in hatred or malice but rather out of love.  Sometimes we love people so much or things so much that  when things don’t work out the way it should,we become highly frustrated.  I was walking back to my apartment from class in the snowing thinking how beautiful the snow was.  As I was walking the snow began to stick to me and get in to my eyes and nose and then this thing of beauty was getting on my nerves,  When people or things are out of place in your life, they give you a feeling of annoyance.  the snow belonged on the ground, on the ground I saw it’s beauty.  When the snow was on my eyes and nose, it was out of place and was getting on my nerves.  Things are beautiful in it’s place.  What does that mean?  When the right people are in our lives, they add a layer of beauty to us.  When they are out of place but are still connected to you, they become annoying and increase your levels of frustration with them.  Your love for them fuels your frustration because you know who they can be – you see the potential and you just want to shake them to get their lives together.  I know, honey- I know! But like the snow, people have a way of finding their purpose in life, creating beauty once again.  Don’t give up on those you love, just watch them fall into their purpose.

Lastly, each snowflake is detailed and intricate. Everyone’s purpose is intricate and detailed for a specific time(season), making your dream just as special as mine.  Dream and dream big because we need your dreams to make a better world.

Enjoy this snowpocalypse and don’t  forget to give thanks to the One who has made everything.

Until next time,
