“Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.”(Ps. 37: 1-2)
Hello Authentic Lovers–
Lately. I’ve been watching the news (the most depressing hour of television) and have come to realize that lately it seems like people get away with doing bad things. I don’t know if that makes sense or not but it seems like justice no longer exists, like there are no consequences for doing wrong.
I was talking to the Lord about these concerns of mine, when He directed me to Psalm 37. This Psalm is not one of the Psalms that I know off the top of my head, so I sat and read it again. The Psalmist encourages the people to not to worry or be anxious of what they see. How many of us worry about others do? How many of us become anxious and want to resolve things our own way? I have been guilty of thinking that it was my job to create consequences for those that wronged me or done harm to me. But this morning, I learned that I do not have to fight for myself or make justice happen- God is just and therefore He will fight on my behalf.
“Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.”(Ps. 37: 7)
Today, I encourage you to wait on God. I know that things seem to be really bad right now. I know that the world is full of chaos and all kinds of evil but God knows this and He is going to do something about it- wait on Him. Just because those around you have resorted to doing evil, don’t follow their path- rise above what you see.
“A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.” (Ps. 37:10)
Until next time,
Mo 🙂
