There’s A Song for That…

Hello old friends, new followers, and fellow bloggers-

Those that know me, know that I love music.  I mean,  I LOVE MUSIC!  I love all genres of music and all styles. To be honest, I am just a lover of sound.  There is something beautiful about having a playlist for a certain activity.  Music makes everything better!  My sister and I were modeling some clothes at her house when I thought, let’s play a different song for each outfit. Whether we were retro or sophisticated, we jammed out to some classics as we decided on outfits for a trip.  Instantly, joy filled the room as we sang to the songs at the top of our lungs and allowed ourselves to just be in the moment.

When was the last time you allowed yourself to just be in the moment?  To be present with yourself, family and favorite playlist?  When was the last time you welcomed joy?

I think sometimes we lose ourselves in the day to day routines.  We are always preparing for what’s next and we miss out on the wonder of what’s around us.  There is something beautiful about losing yourself in joy.  It’s like light fills you up and peak through as a smile only to lose the ability to be contained.  When we’re happy we are literally leaking light! Today, I felt proud because I finished my to-do list. It was a small victory but I didn’t feel the essence of joy until I was dancing with my sister not thinking about the immediate future.  I found joy in being present.

I wish I could tell you that the work ends.  Nope!  The work does not end, it just evolves over time but our sour attitude to the mundane can end.  We can find and possess joy in every day things by being intentional about being present. So, find a playlist for your day, sing to the top of your lungs, dance freely and find joy again.   Life’s too short to not enjoy each of and every moment.

Xoxo,

Simone
